ntellectual Acknowledgements
I am a jack of all trades, and a master of none: an intellectual debutante and a surface-grazer. I have robbed hard science for his poetry and poetry for her machine parts, welding together a cyborg that is neither poetic nor scientific. None of the scientists whose work I have so robbed can be reproached for their science, nor could poets or historians be brought up on charges of machine-love and stripped of title.
But I would like to thank many authors living and dead whose work I loved and whose words inspired this novel, which I will list here once I have listed them.
